We’re pleased to announce that we’ve won a major PR project with Innovate UK, the Government’s innovation agency. After winning a competitive pitch against other PR agencies, we’ve been tasked with promoting Innovate UK’s groundbreaking Innovation Accelerators pilot programme among the general public.

Through Innovation Accelerators, £130m is being invested in 26 potentially game-changing R&D projects. These are designed to tackle very pressing national and global challenges and at the same time support the Government’s Industrial Strategy by generating economic growth, private co-investment and jobs in three key regions – Glasgow City Region, Greater Manchester and the West Midlands.

Mike Green, campaigns lead at Innovate UK, explained why Energy PR was chosen:

“At the pitch the Energy team showed, clear thinking, sharp editorial instinct, and a strong sense of how to bring these regional stories to life with heart and impact.

“Even without prior involvement in the programme, they nailed the brief and brought a fresh perspective we’re excited to build on.”

The projects we’ll be promoting range from innovations to make it easier for women to have smear tests, through to the virtual reality solutions which mean treasures stored within the UK’s museums could become more accessible to the general public.

We’ll bring such innovations to life through the use of video case studies, with real local people talking about how they have been affected by the solutions, combined with intensive media relations and a social media programme.

Louise Findlay-Wilson, our managing director and founder, said:

“We’re so thrilled to be working with the Innovate UK team on this project. Innovations such as quantum or green technologies typically leave the average person a bit cold. It’s easy to see why. The developments are often incredibly technical and sound like far off solutions. People understandably end up thinking they’re not going to affect them. We can’t wait to help change all that.”

We're always interested in a new PR challenge
