“Since Energy PR has been managing our socials, the level of interaction, from quality leads, has been unbelievable. Being able to build my personal presence online, whilst also generating new business leads has been eye opening. I am more excited than ever to see what magic Team Energy can sprinkle over my account, and the Crossflow company account, as we move forward” – Rebecca White, Commercial Director at Crossflow

The Need

Crossflow Energy, a renewable technology specialist, had developed a pioneering ‘small-wind’ turbine.’ It was launching it alongside its first customer, Vodafone and wanted to use LinkedIn to really maximise this moment.

To say we’ve done that would be an understatement.

OK, so how did we do it?

  • The telecoms sector was a key priority. We found the senior decision makers, industry connections and green tech influencers on LinkedIn and analysed how they were ‘showing up’ on the platform – the style of content they preferred, how they engaged and what they shared.
  • We performed a social media audit on other players within the industry, reviewing what they were doing right (and wrong) before starting our own activity.
  • We then devised our approach, strategy and content pillars.
  • On LinkedIn ‘people follow people’. So, in addition to taking over the company page (which was dormant) we created LinkedIn accounts for Crossflow’s MD and Commercial Director.
  • Fantastic imagery combined with a really personal perspective on the launch told the story of Crossflow Energy in a powerful way that not only educated the market, but also ignited a passion within people about the new turbine and renewables more generally.
  • The posts were deliberately honest and refreshing, looking at all things sustainability, whether that be tech, news, data, events or competitors.

The Outcome

Our work on LinkedIn created so much more than social buzz – though there was masses of that! It kicked off serious new business conversations on an international scale.

The Crossflow LinkedIn page alone received 10k engagements in the first year. The average engagement rate was an impressive 6.35%.  Follower numbers also rose by a whopping 1,327%. In short, we were talking to the right people in the right way on the right platform. This increased brand awareness, amplified market share of voice, and facilitated plenty of new business conversations.

At the same time we secured 425,275 impressions for the personal profiles, 7,385 engagements and 3,704 new followers.

We’ve also added our expertise, creativity and unique approach to Crossflow’s media activity.
